With roots tracing back to 1884, the property has undergone a remarkable transformation over the years. Initially developed with a shed, stable, and small outbuilding, the property served as a hub for stables from 1888 through 1902. By 1908, it had evolved to include a blacksmith shop, a stable, part of a residence, and a section of a bottling works building.

By 1920, a portion of the property was being occupied as a warehouse for a bottling company while a blacksmith continued to operate there until 1926. Years later, during the mid-1930s, the site had transitioned into a gas station. The southern part of the property also accommodated

a residence from the early 1940s through the early 1970s. The property was left vacant through 1995.

Since 2000 through 2020, the property was occupied by a culinary products store, known as The Cook's Station, now open on 525 Buncombe Street. Before the Spinx Market & Eatery, the property has consisted of a vacant commercial building, hourly paid parking spaces, landscaping and woodland.
